R U OK? Day is an annual event in Australia, celebrated on the second Thursday of September. It encourages Australians to check in on each other, particularly those who may be experiencing difficult times. The day aims to promote mental health awareness and foster conversations about well-being.
Encouraging Positive Social Interactions
Therapy dogs encourage positive social interactions. When people are around therapy dogs, they tend to feel happier and more open to engaging with others.
This can be especially beneficial for individuals who struggle with social anxiety or depression.
Positive social interactions help improve mood and overall emotional well-being.

Mary and Georgie (Chihuahua) and Therese and Sueki (Border Collie) visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service at Adelaide Airport, for a special event for RU OK day.
Today we spoke to the organiser of the event, who thanked us for the amazing volunteers and dogs who brought happiness to their workplace.
(Her words.) This brings home the realisation of what our teams bring to people every day. Thank you to both teams - the people onsite reckon yesterday was the best day they've ever had at work.
